“ How to Monetizing Your Marketing Strategy”
As an interior designer and decor blogger, I focused on brand presence, influence, and brand-building opportunities. This annual conference attracts a national collection of design professionals and influencers from all over the nation to participate in this 3-day program which kicked off with a grand opening dinner hosted by Monogram located at the Ferguson Buckhead Showroom.
The 3 Day Event featured over 15 exclusive brands that displayed products, giveaways, and updates, and were seeking collaborations with design influencers of all types. Participating brands included
Dunes and Duchess, Norwalk Furniture, Circa Lighting, Aidan Gray, Metrie, Ballard Designs, Currey & Co., High Point Market Authority, Inside out, Materials Marketing ( for that beautiful stone and tile or the perfect fireplace and more) , Universal Furniture ( to the trade furniture) , and Crypton Fabrics ( a source that is becoming our go-to fabric for home) to name a few.

Part 2
Mentoring Session and New Friends
I am excited to announce the success of the “Morning Mentoring Sessions” offered for the first time this year as a way for designers to seek free guidance and strategies from seasoned decor bloggers and online design businesses .
This year a new Mentoring Session was offered to help designers collaborate and discuss new approaches to developing an online visibility for their businesses. This is a design first approach to blogging and marketing a design business. This is a real struggle for many designers who focus on their design business as well as design bloggers, looking to activate in the online environment. Each has a uniquely different approach and should use different social platforms accordingly. Sometimes not knowing what is going to work can sometimes keep yo from starting!
Ex. QUESTIONS: Where should I focus my time to get more clients? Should I setup a shoppable Instagram page, who should be spending more time on Pinterest? If you aren’t sure how to answer these questions, ask a colleague you trust to help.
“A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships”
This was a great opportunity to mingle and share with a like minded community that became empowering & Inspiration for everyone that attended.
Creating collaborations and starting new friendships.
The design mentoring sessions made it easier than ever to connect with talented, experienced professionals from various towns and places. By taking a less formal approach to mentorship, we made decisions based on collective input from our groups. Everyone received a wealth of information that will greatly level up their skills, regardless of what the future brings.
If you are attending the DI 2020 Conference in San Francisco, you can join our mentoring round tables with myself, Carla Aston, Jana Phipps, and Jeanne Chung, as they were a great hit and will be repeated.
Thank you Esteem Media, NE Home, Atlanta Home and to all our exhibitors for their sponsorships, presentations, and wonderful dinner and lunch gatherings, and the group of talented designers who joined us for the morning MENTORING SESSIONS who contributed to the success of the DI 2019 Conference.
