15 Accessories That You’ll Want To Have In Your New Kitchen
1. Corner Organizer
When you have some (realistic) ideas in mind, on your budget, your main focus after the cabinetry design, and pricing, should be figuring out your accessory must-haves and your wants.
A crucial step is in defining some of these items before you go to bid with contractors, making it easier to get realistic ballpark estimates for your kitchen remodeling project.
The corner organizer has turned what was previously dead storage space that was difficult to access into, and a tremendous dead space within those dark corners.
The Lazy Susan or Leman’s corner organizer removes dead storage space and makes your corners work for you. You don’t need a full renovation to add some of these to your cabinets.
“If you have time to go the DIY route, that will be a lot more affordable. You can do a high-end kitchen renovation on a limited budget if you have the time to put into shopping for every item yourself and doing some of the labor yourself. If you’re on the internet, you have pretty much the whole world at your disposal.”

2. Insta Hot Water Tap
Having a boiling water tap in your kitchen is a bit of a luxury as they don’t come cheap. However, the time saved and ease of use once you have one is incredible. I can’t think of a single client that doesn’t absolutely love their boiling water tap.
One of the most popular fixtures is the Insinkerator shown here.
Planning and Your Budget:
Once you have an idea of what your dream kitchen would look like, it’s time to determine how much it will cost. Perform some research to come up with a solid foundation for your kitchen remodel budget.
While it’s tough to determine exactly how much a kitchen renovation will cost this early in the process, establishing a budget ceiling now will allow you to start getting in touch with professionals.
I do know that my clients that have added an insta hot dispenser are very happy with their choice.

3. Accessibility: Smart Storage
This pull-down storage rack is a great addition for those cupboards that are a little too high to reach or to help out the petite chefs among us.
These Storage racks simply pull out and down, allowing us to access and make the best use of the high shelves in your wall cabinets.( without the footstool)
Pull out racks for small tins or spices, this rack simply pulls out a giving you access to items in the back, that you may otherwise have needed a stool to reach.

“It is hard to anticipate the problems that can happen during a renovation, but most importantly don’t be afraid to keep contractors on task with weekly check in meetings. The most common mistake homeowners will make during a remodel, is they are afraid to schduele a weekly checkin. I know we don’t want to be rude or pushy, and we need to respect our contractor, since they are the building expert, but if your contractor is running late for instance, you should call them instead of waiting patiently. You have to be a little bit pushy during your remodel, while remaining professional, which for some people is difficult.”

4. Make your Island Work for You With Smart Drawer Inserts along with Storage for Spices and Dishes.
To quote Fixer Upper’s Chip and Joanna Gaines, “Home is the most important place.”
Storage solutions that work, will change the way you live. Reduce physical stress and use smart solutions to create a kitchen you will love and enjoy for many years to come.
Yes, dishes can be stored in drawers for easy access.
If you have any back issues, this is your go-to storage plan, no more reaching above, instead, store your plates in drawers with a peg organizing system.

Note on working with contractors: Once you’ve picked a contractor to assist in your kitchen remodel project, draw up a contract that outlines the scope of the work and establishes a payment schedule. See our list of “ The Top Questions You Must Ask Before Hiring”. and common agreements.
5. Pantry Storage Drawers
Clever storage solutions for fruits and vegetables. These are great for items best stored at room temperature., like potatoes, onions, and other root vegetables. If you do not have the space for a walk-in pantry, but you have the space in your island or perimeter, these drawers offer you a great storage solution in your kitchen. There’s even a bread drawer.
I usually use either Haflele or Rev A Shelf in maple and wicker.
The 2 tier wire basket storage shown is by Rev A Shelf and is great for retrofitting of existing cabinets.
6. Charging Station Inside Your Drawers
When you’re ready to add technology to your room, we recommend you also add a charging station in a drawer for your technology
Docking Drawer is an Industry favorite.
Configure your electrical plan to accommodate the electrical needs at the cabinet that will be offering the charging station. (Note: Have a professional contractor oversee the coordination for this step.)
7. The Gallery Workstation Sink
The workstation sink is larger and offers interchangeable worksurfaces for serious multitasking.
Here I am sharing Ruvati's double bowl sink. Part sink, part workstation, it features a track that slides built-in accessories across like colanders, cutting boards, and drying racks.
Workstation Sinks offer worksurfaces, a larger sink for small kitchens, a great workhorse for kitchen islands, and easy cleanup.
8. AIR FRYER
Yes, the air fryer has been all the rage lately. It was the top holiday gift of the year last year, but if you have limited counter space, or you don’t have a walk-in pantry to locate it, then it’s a little cumbersome.
Now, you can buy the air fryer as part of your range/ oven! Yup, they now offer the AIR FRYER function within your oven. Why have multiple devices that basically do the same thing? Have one appliance with multiple functions instead. Speed oven, convection, microwave, air fryer, broiler, and steam cooking all in one is the best way to go. These cooking methods used to be all in separate devices. Using air fry is as easy as using your convection oven. You only need to preheat the oven to the appropriate temperature before adding your food. The air fry feature saves you counter space and the inconvenience of cleaning after each use in your sink.
9. Pop up Electric and Wireless charger
Smart electrical outlets. Great for kitchen islands and for a clean backsplash ( especially if you have your countertop continuing up into your backsplash.
Waterproof pop-up power and charger outlets are easy to install.
10. Under-counter Microwave Drawer or Speed Oven
Don’t wast valuable counter space with a microwave. If you are not able to place it in your walk in pantry, or pantry cabinet, invest in an under counter microwave drawer , ideally in your island.
11. Under-Counter Refrigerator Drawers
Enjoy quick access to your favorite foods and beverages with the 24" / 30” Under Counter Refrigerator Drawers.
There is plenty of room to organize fresh ingredients for meal prep or for storing milk and juice boxes for the kids. No matter what you're storing, Perlick keeps the temperature within 1° of the setpoint to keep goods fresher for longer. Also available in outdoor models.
Items Not Waste My Money On?
This is one place in the kitchen where you can save money. The Pot Filler. Yup, I know, it looks like a functional and stylish gadget to include in your new kitchen, but I recommend you save your money and use it towards something else more useful.
I have one in my house. It’s easy to use for filling pots, but because I don’t use it daily, I end up dumping the first pot of water because I know that the water has been sitting in my pipes all week.
Let’s say that the sitting water does’nt bother you. Yes, you have the convenience of filling a large pot at the stove, you still have to walk to the sink to drain and dispense the hot water. So its functionality is only partial to the tasks.
It may look pretty, but who wants water that’s sitting in pipes for days? I prefer freshwater for my food, so I recommend skipping the pot filler and invest in a gooseneck faucet for your sink with a pull-out sprayer to fill your large pots. Save your money on the fixture and the cost for the plumber to pipe over to the range and mount on the wall or into the counter to the side.
